Zeal, an energy drink.
A branding exercise for energy drinks. The goal for this assignment was to research the current ecosystem and create a new take on flavored energy drinks. In the course of three weeks, I came up with Zeal.
The different flavors in Zeal are designed with a consistent look and color palette inspired by real fruits. I used a thematic flavor naming convention thats synonym to Zeal to maintain a consistent attitude across the brand.
I experimented with creating a transparent packaging to let the product speak for itself when its place on a shelf. Mocked up this idea in collaboration with TAP Plastics in San Francisco and sneaked in the box inside a grocery store to observe how customers react. The unusual box and packaging stopped almost 90% of passing by customers for a second look and most tried to inquire for price.
Using Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop I created all the original 3D Modal, illustrations, and photography. This project was showcased at the Academy of Art University’s spring show.
