"Near Miss" was a small game developed in under 48 hours during the 2015 Global Game Jam. The goal of the game was to destroy all of the orbs as fast as you can by using a variety of elemental attacks - however, each time you used an attack, all nearby orbs that didn't get hit gained immunity to that element. In this way, if you weren't careful, you might give an orb all five elemental immunities, rendering it invincible.
The game was developed in a two-person team. I was responsible for the programming implementation, including navigation, all mechanics and AI, using Unity3D and C#. My partner, Sarah Fields, designed all of the game's art assets. Near Miss was deployed as a web game, a Mac OS standalone and a Windows standalone. The web version of the game can be played here.
