The assignment (in information design course) was to redesign the existing map of the network - make it easier to use and readable.
After initial drafts I've decided on a system where every tram line is separate - making it easy to follow the specific route and length of the tram line visible. It's easier to spot last stops as well as hubs with many tramway lines crossing.
Designing the layout of all the tram lines was challenging: adding the typography & fitting all the stops + their names, working out the details and best angles. Colour coding helped to make things clear - lines are in shades of grey, you can distinguish between them & they are still unified - cause main stops are featured as blue. Number of the specific line is at its first and last stop - in blue & on all shared tram stops. Silesian tram network is between several nearby cities & they are distinguished by the background block with light grey outline that mark the stops falling under that city.
