In this 1st exercise I designed all of the visual elements in Illustrator and prepared the file for animation in
After Effects. A lot of the work only reinforced my current workflow, but it was fun to put together regardless. The most notable thing I learned was the loopOut(); expression, which I applied to the loading bar.
While the result of this 2nd exercise was not as visually striking as I had hoped it would be, putting it together taught me a good deal. The entire piece was composed in Cinema 4D. I created a pretty basic Xpresso controller to help manage the scaling animation, but all of the smaller assets were keyframed.
I think I need to improve on emphasizing the smaller assets, but I gained a lot of creative insight making this composition. Most notably I now comprehend how the Range Mapper node works.
