“You know you are truly alive when you’re living among lions.”

However long the night may last, there will be morning.
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
The lulling eyes of my beautiful Mpole. This lioness has brought us a lot of laughs over the years. Even from the time she was a young cub she was always trying to impress, but when it came to action she was always content to let others do the work. We once watched her sister ride the back of a buffalo and get swung round and round while she lay daydreaming in the grass. Always with her head in the clouds.
The Naughty
The brilliant stare of the Lookout. Through the looking glass.
And his brother...
Unlike his brother the Lookout, this is a naughty boy. He never looks directly at you. He is always with his head down, letting you know he fears nothing. He is the leader of the Purunget pride. He is the first to fight, the first to eat, and will be the first to die protecting his territory and family.
"Every morning an impala wakes up knowing that it must outrun the fastest lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning a lion wakes up knowing that it must outrun the slowest impala or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a lion or an impala, when the sun comes up in Africa you must wake up running"

I never forget a face. The distinct triangular face... a Purungat Pride lioness.
Perfectly following in dad's footsteps...already giving me the infamous "Lookout" stare. Quite ready to ditch the cute and fuzzy image of a lion cub.
The lines of their backs and the curves of their faces...the Egyptian Goose male and his great love.
Loyal Lovers. The Egyptian Goose male and his great love. I have never seen a single male defend a lioness the way he defends her. He is always in her shadow...for years now. It's just beautiful.
Good Morning beauty...
