From the start, they wanted a concept around the fact that they are a "trio" band. One of the mandatories was that they wanted to keep the album digital, but needed to craft a tridimensional object with the download code and merchandise inside it, to sell it at gigs and to add a user experience value to it. The merchindise included was a button pin and a vinyl cut sticker.

We came out with the shape of a 3 side pyramid, to symbolise the way the 3 musicians converge in a single direction. The print was made black and white to fit on bright neon coloured paper; this way, they could make it affordable through photocopy process.

The package design was made to function only by folding it. No attachments, no glue: just a single piece.

I took photographs of the beautiful Irazú's crater in Costa Rica, and another of a group of crocodiles at the Simon Bolivar Zoo in San José Downtown. This photographs would be the skin of the pyramids.

The colour of the pyramids changes according to the paper. In this particular case, the paper was bought as a mixed coloured letter size paper package, ran through a photocopy machine.

The cutting and folding process was made over night — handmade by the members of the band and a couple friends: they managed to prepare over 100 pyramids for the launching event — The folding groove was achieved by an "ink-less" thick ball roller pen, a very effective homemade technique.

At the end, we achieved an artisanal project with a strong concept, powerful graphics and highly affordable production.
