Diploma dissertation for my Bachelor’s programme in the University of the Aegean (Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering), entitled “Design and implementation of an internet-based interactive service which supports the reporting of road defects by citizens to the maintenance public services”, is about a system which helps its users to report a pothole, roadway debris/litter, light or sign problem, or any other road defect of the road network.
An academic study was carried out in the scientific field of crowd sourcing, geo-location, e-Government, open data, the quality of service, user experience and usability.
Furthermore, existing systems were studied and analyzed. To design it, a lengthy and detailed research was carried out by users concerning their needs and preferences. Based on the principles of the previous scientific fields along with the results of the user research, the system was designed and implemented. Thus, a website was created with responsive, elegant and tasteful design, which contains every necessary process so the motorist will easily carry out his task.

The original system was positively evaluated by his users. Consequently, a fully formed system was created. Also, the research study for designing solutions, created an additional group of designing specifications for systems which contain web applications, entry data forms, responsive design, and map presentation.
