Graphic Design II: the Package Design project
Queens College, Spring 2011
Professor Fred J. DeVito
First we had to choose our product, research it, and create a brief on the redesign.
Next we had to create an ideation spread with photos of packages that inspired ours, our own sketches thinking about our package, and Pantone chips of colors we would be using.
This was the design I created for the sleeves. The colors used for the first four absorbencies remained true to the original Always packaging, but a bit more vibrant. I changed the color of Maximum Protection because the current color is too similar to the Overnight color. LeakGuard is a product slightly outside the family, but could be incorporated with another new color. The Always logo remains the same, but the infinity sign color is now brown to match the box the napkins will be in.
We finally had to create a comp. My box was created using another template I designed with a cardboard texture and was printed on white paper as well, so it is not completely authentic (and explains the white edges) but presents the idea.
