Wellness Spa, Newbury Street, Boston, MA

A wellness spa was designed on Newbury Street in Boston that was intended for totally relaxation in an area that is full of the chaos of city life. My idea was to create an area that takes a person through a series of spaces that ultimately lead to the most simplest of spaces. The image of a tornado embodies this very idea. The bottom of the tornado is the most chaotic and towards the top, peace is found.
Layers of attachment to the outside world are shed as one moves closer to the center As one starts the process, light is seen pouring out from the final destination, but it is not until the end of the journey that one can fully experience the tranquility of the space.
