... it's all about expectation management.
is an editorial story created to fulfill a challenge (given to me by Harvey Stein) to shoot Coney Island.  On my very first visit I was taken-back more by the feeling than the actual facade. I opted to relay this impression through a juxtaposition of refinement and simplicity.  Issues considered were based on the connections between various patrons that I observed while visiting the park. These are portrayed in this series through a relationship between a mother and child; both trying to measure up to each others' expectations—both often coming up short.
