"Gentle Slopes" Nature Documentary

Gentle Slopes is a non-verbal wildlife documentary characterized by a poetic use of imagery in association with the music of Gustav Mahler. The film begins with a symbolic representation of the beginning of times and goes on to show the diverse wildlife that inhabits this remote corner of Portugal. Eventually man interferes in negative, positive and ambiguous ways. Ultimately a question is raised: what is man’s role in Nature?

This film was developed by me and my partner Ana Raquel Simões as the final project on our Audiovisual Communications bachelors. It went on to participate in several nature film festivals around Europe.
