I was tired of my old Wordpress site. I wanted bigger faster loading images with a simpler interface. I wanted Futura! But after looking at Cargo Collective, Indexhibit, and others I realized any out-of-the-box solution would be very limited. The only way to have everything I wanted, was to build it from scratch.
