As part of the elective, the Ross University students teamed with students from the Chamberlain College of Nursing to provide medical care to hundreds of patients who would otherwise have received little or no care. The teams of students, who were overseen by physicians, nurses, and socials workers, treated patients from morning to night. The goal of the elective was to impart on students a sense of community involvement and compassion.
