The "Bigfoot Patrol Membership Kit" started life as one of the ongoing daily drawings I create to keep my artistic skills and output consistent. After sketching an imaginary park ranger embroidered patch design for a mystical unit of the National Park System, "Bigfoot Patrol", I was encouraged to make these things a reality.
What you see here is a small sampling of the artwork, illustrations and design assets I developed for not only the patch, but for the branding of this mythical parks division, as well as for the items in the "Membership Kit" I had manufactured. Additionally, there was a tons of design needed for the Kickstarter campaign as well.
In the end, the Bigfoot Patrol Kickstarter campaign didn't reach my overly-ambitious goal (the 6-color t-shirts and the shipping costs bumped the total up way too high). But I persevered with a kit that had just the core items, and with the help of some of the Kickstarter backers who pre-ordered the kits, I had these things manufactured.
Everything I learned through the entire process helped me streamline my followup embroidered patch and membership kit for "Yeti Squad", which exceeded the campaign funding goal on Kickstarter in the first week — and you can still pledge until Feb. 24, 2015. In addition to the new Yeti Squad patches and kit, you can add on to your pledge and get a Bigfoot Patrol patch or a Bigfoot Patrol Membership Kit.
And yes, of course I am following these up with a Sasquatch-themed patch and kit later this year.
