Well, the original idea was do a contour line drawing of myself to familiarize myself with Illustrator again. After getting the lines down and remembering the old days, I decided an outline just wasnt going to be enough..
Mind the pixelation. In the orignal photo I was giving the finger lol.
And soon I became to color in what I like to call the cartoon style if you will of myself. It's simple, it looked good, and I needed the practice. But this still wasn't enough.
*que Photoshop*
After lots and lots of constantly toying around with different pictures, and different tints and shades I finally "finished" the first draft of my self portrait. It's not perfect, I know that, but neither am I nor my skills in Photoshop. I plan on coming back to this project in the future with a better understanding of these programs, and how I can not only use these tools for strengthening my portfolio, but seeing how they apply to my field of study [video games].
