Glassfin | Experimental Reel

This year we've decided to break away from the typical showreels and went for an experimental video reel instead.

Everything was done in house, from pre-production right up to post. Ideas and concept were inspired by the characteristics of the people in Glassfin and conversations that we've had, which were then infused with motion graphics that we've done.

First things first, storyboards to sell our idea.

The most challenging part was to get our costumes right just the way our Director had pictured in his mind. We also had to be mindful that the costumes were breathable and not too hot for our actors who will be under the lights for long hours.

Looks like they're ready to become thieves.

While we were still figuring out the costumes, our in-house designers were also asked to practice their movements to get it right. Thankfully, all of them were really sporting, despite some grumbles, but the show still went on!

We were a little apprehensive going into production since this would be the first time we were to handle everything on our own. Somehow, looking at how the professional production houses do it and actually doing it ourselves were different. We have the basic knowledge but never putting it to practice. Luckily the guys from the Rental House were great and gave us solutions to lighting and camera setups.

While camera and lights were being setup, some of us got ready with our costumes and acting making sure everything is done just before we start shooting.

At the end of the day, we had a blast making this video. Although there were hiccoughs along the way, everyone managed to support each other and did the best that they could give.
