refinishing my childhood toybox

this thing took a beating during the 90's,
a few nails and some wood glue should do the trick
a decade of crayon and marker removed with a wire brush
three rounds of sanding with progressively finer grit
help to smooth out the wood, but i wanted to retain
the overall roughness of the piece. each notch has a story
3 quick rounds of sanding with progressively finer sandpaper
i chose a nice gray stain from minwax to fit the
primarily gray and purple decor of my little girl's room
stain with the grain
i've applied a couple quick coats to make sure i didn't miss any spots
and get the right level of saturation
wiping off the excess to get just the right tone
the dry final product came out pretty nice! i think she'll love it
