Rainer Gruessner has built a career defined by consistent excellence and the never-ending pursuit of advancing the field of surgery and its related sciences. His accomplishments in the field of surgery are vast and diverse. He has achieved success on multiple levels across numerous platforms.
Rainer Gruessner is an active researcher and scholar, having authored over 300 published manuscripts, over 200 published articles, and two textbooks each over 670 pages long. His first textbook focused on transplantation of the pancreas and his second one on living donor organ transplantation.
He has been in surgical leadership positions for over 15 years.When he is not hard at work researching or practicing surgery, he enjoy spending time with his wife, Angelika, and their two children who are both medical students.
