What you do when inspiration hits without paper and pencils. Cardboard and sharpies.
Refined and ready to cut.
Linocut printed on rice paper. I was hoping for smooth, clean lines, but the textured appearance was a nice surprise.
I still really wanted to give this design a cleaner appearance, so the next step was to take it into Illustrator CC.
I also really wanted to turn the Mako into a decal...
I wasn't sold on the concentric ripples to shark ratio. After playing with the design, I really liked the juxtaposition of hard edges to curves that the triangular frame created.
Perfect
Finally ready to cut! (Again)
Ready to be gifted!
This set was printed on transparent vinyl. It's by far my favorite media for this design.
