This project began during the fall of 2007 with aself-portrait assignment. I decided rather than making photographs of myselfdirectly I would focus on the aspects of my life that made me who I am. I began to photograph my family and my surroundings. BeingItalian, I’ve found that many things stick out around my house such as acrucifix in every bedroom (either over the bed or window, or next to the door),the family picture wall, and, of course, the kitchen.
These images tell the story of mylife through my family. They’ve allowed me to watch my family grow from both afirst and third person perspective and have made me realize just how strong animpact family has on my life.
