The prompt from Threadless was open ended, anything "throwback".  I brainstormed and thought about my history and realized that I love a lot of early 90s design. I researched a lot of Trapper Keepers for inspiration.

I hand created all the textures I wanted in my work, besides the composition notebook covers which I found online.  

Then I experimented with various effects, color schemes, and compositions until I reached a satisfactory outcome and knew what I wanted.

And eventually got it just how I wanted it.
