As a girl it took me a while to be comfortable with tools. A part of it goes back to not being exposed to tools as a kid. I designed Bees Bike to familiarize kids like me with tools and assembling so they learn to enjoy creating and making. A kit of simple parts that kids can enjoy working with is used to assemble a ride-able bike in their own home.
Pegs are used as simple fasteners that kids can enjoy working with to easily put the bike together.
The Bees bike began as a way to introduce tools to kids. The seat and seatpost are designed to look like a bike air pump and the overall side shape to resemble a torx key.
Design of the Bees Bike was my final project for Prototyping Form course thought by Ayako Takase. I benefited from Thomas Weis's advice on this project.
