The Package Design for 5 Eggs
METU Industrial Design Second Year Project
The project is designed for three different challenge categories. First of all, the most important challenge was reducing the damage. The structure of package is made to prevent an egg from cracking, when it is thrown from a height which is approximate in a regular market shelve. Other two categories aimed basically the same goal of material usage. Each package holds 5 eggs by using a very small amount of paper based material which will be budget friendly in the production processes. Also, the package is created by not using any kind of glue material
From the environmental point of view, the package is recyclable which is made out of corrugated card board and the production is possible with the least quantity of material and little cut-offs. Also it consists of one piece which is also suitable for storage in the market shelves. Finally, this design combines the efficiency to the economy.
