With their centuries-old iconography blending a mix of ancient symbols, religious metaphor, and

historic events, Tarot can seem purposefully opaque. Although its roots may seem occult,It is believed that

Tarot was originally created as a game for Nobles. It is not until centuries later that the cards reemerged

as a tool of divination. Over time, Tarot has been adopted for the use by mystics and occultists in divination

or a map of mental pathways to offer individual’s spiritual guidance.

 

I chose this subject as my interpretation of the theme of the exhibition: Visions and Memories, as I was inspired by its rich source of history, culture, and philosophy in every design of the cards. These images are portraying the essential of human situations and patterns which all of us experience in life one time or another, from birth to death, not only literally but many times during life at many different levels. And also I was inspired by its multiple uses as a tool of divination that offers a way to the participants to recognize connections and find meaning in their experiences that could profoundly influence their future.

 

This art piece focuses on the Major Arcana cards that form the foundation of the Tarot deck, recreated from the popular and widely used A.E.Waite’s the tarot card designs, merging together contemporary illustration, ancient symbolism, and storytelling to make captivating and meaningful interpretations of the cards.
