Rape issue is one of the most chronic societal problems in Thailand.
Majority of the victims have little or no knowledge of how to deal with the situation afterwards due to embarrassment and fear. This has led TIJ (Thailand institute of Justice) to promote a campaign in the hope to raise awareness for those victims. The project presents a toolkit set which guides the reader to the appropriate steps of how to deal with rape issue both in terms of rights and roles. The box set contains variety of informative publication including website, a booklet, a poster and a leaflet.
Despite usefulness of the information regarding rape crime, the media always portray the issue in a negative and gloomy manner. This embeds the viewers with a threatening perception. The rights and regulation relating to the crime is also being formally presented which form a barrier to the receivers. Thus, the design team is aspired to reimagine the information in a fresh and encouraging fashion, creating an accessible data platform for everyone.
Concept & Execution
The final design minimizes the gap between the viewers and the information through the technique of story-telling. The audience is guided through an imaginative journey based on different characters and their roles. A set of town, has been constructed for these inhabitants to live in and perform their parts; the action and settings of these towns tend to communicate to the viewers in a much more entertaining way.
Mood & Tone
The design tones down the seriousness of the information with a cheerful, cutting-edge imagery, creating a combination of freshness and boldness. The story line sums up the design with three words; epic, adventurous and fun.
