YCN Forestry Commission Brief

For this brief I had to come up with a campaign which would make the forests which are run by the Forestry Commission more appealing to teenage-twenty five year olds. My campaign was aimed more towards the higher end of the spectrum, I wanted to remind people in their twenties of what being in a forest was like as a child and to make them yearn to feel that way again rather than being stuck in the same old routine.

To do this I simply put ‘be (insert word associated with childhood here)‘ so for example, ‘be carefree’ or ‘be fearless’ I then teamed these up with illustrations of activities that the Forestry Commission offered which represented this phrase. So for example, ‘be curious’ was teamed up with the owl prowls, bat walks, star gazing, etc. Where as fearless was put with Go Ape, mountain biking etc. The majority of the campaign is billboards/adshells, things that can be seen on someones way to work.

The brief asked that the campaign had the scope to go online so I also turned it into an advert which could be seen before videos on say, youtube for example. They would be quick and snappy but team the emotion and the activities together, just like the print campaigns do.
Example of a billboard
A short youtube advert which shows a selection of activities which The Forestry Commission offer, made in the same style as the billboards to show a link between the two.
