This was the first redesign I was involved in at Hendrix College after starting there as a web designer and front end developer. The process involved a three-member web team: a content person, a back end developer and myself.
Not much was done to reorganize the structure of the site in this redesign. It was primarily focused on the visual design. I leaned into the brand colors of orange and black, increased the container width for (relatively) larger displays and gave the major campus stakeholders a place in the homepage content.
The vertical tab navigation wound up being a step toward the audience-driven primary navigation that was used later in the 2011-2012 redesign of the site.
