Game Character Design

For Illustration class at University I was asked to do three character designs for a made up game, including a cover.

Story of the game
Basically this game called The Element-Warriors is about a post-apocalyptic world whereas the enviroment got destroyed by natural catastrophes. Scientists already being prepared for such a disaster, they built dugouts deep down earth to freeze in 50 people. These 50 people wake up long after the disaster and have to investigate the new world. Of course, what scientists haven't calculated is, that there have been more survivors than these 50 people. People, as well as animals have survived and roam and rule the ground. The old ways of earth have been thrown away and are now replaced with barely recognizeable humanity. The goal for the player is to reach the capital of the new world and convince the monarch to play again by the old rules of earth. To rebuild it as it once existed.

How the game works
The player is controlling one of the once frozen people. Similar to Skyrim and The Last Of Us, you have a main mission yet a whole new world to discover with all the perks included. You can make friends as well as enemies and have to watch out for people and animals who want to kill you since your character is new in town.
Character 1, the Scientist, dresses newly and weirdly, and fights with a gun since it's his old way of weaponry. Machine guns don't exist in the new world. In the game, he meets up the Native and the Cougar early and teams up with them.
Character 2, the Native, is an aggressive fighter and survives in rural areas. She fights with a sword-spear hybrid. She's in company with the Cougar all the time to fight of intruders.
Character 3, the Cougar, is the sidekick of the Native. She helps her friend whereever she can. She wears a pink diamond headband since it once bore magic powers now long gone. In hope of getting these powers back and because the Cougar got used to it, she keeps it.
