The Italian food festival is embedded in the ancient culture of the land. As one travels through the country side, at any time of the year, they will most likely encounter one of these many celebrations of local cuisine. To explore my family’s routes in Sicily, I researched the festivals and history of the island. The Taste of Sicilia festival is a collection of festivals I developed that allows one to explore the food and culture of Sicily.
The identity draws on iconic ingredients of the unique Sicilian cuisine and transforms them into explosive celebrations. The elements are transformed into classical patterns, but also into dynamic repetitions of timeless traditions. The graphics are bold and daring, but also refined and shaped where typographic clarity is key. The system covers the poster, event tickets, event guide booklet, as well as other supporting materials, such as festival passes and website mockups. All information on all elements is presented in both English and Italian.
