One out of five people in the world lives without electricity. CUT OUT THE DARKNESS is a project initiated by Panasonic & Behance Japan to promote understanding of life in areas without electricity and to offer solar lanterns to people in those areas. Graphic artists from all over the world have been invited to submit their original design for the lamp shades. I was kindly invited to join the cause, and although I am aware that this project is rather different from what I usually publish, I just couldn’t miss the chance to take part on such great initiative. Although Behance Japan contacted me nearly a month ago, I was caught in a very peculiar moment (out of office, sick, deadlines... ). With all that going on, everything (from the sketches, drawings, digital work & presentation to the eventual publishing) was done within 20 hours. With more time, I would have done it less 'cute' and more realistic. Nonetheless, I am very happy that it's been well received. The selected designs for donation are chosen by popularity voting, so please spare a few minutes to check other submissions: https://www.behance.net/search?search=CUT+OUT+THE+DARKNESS+ And please, take some time to visit the official website and vote your favourites: http://cotd.panasonic.net/entry/latest/1 You can vote until the 31st of January. Cheers!  Read Less
