Sunsets in Greece

Sunsets in Greece
travel posters

In the 1960's in Greece, Freddie Carabott and Michalis & Agni Katzourakis designed some beautiful, now historic travel posters for the Greek National Tourism Organization. In 2010's I draw inspiration from their designs and attempt to make my own posters for GNTO and the "Visit Greece" project.

First stop: Meteora. A place with Greek Orthodox monasteries built on top of rock pillars, one of the unique sights of Greece. I drew inspiration from the shapes of the stones and the colors of the sunset behind them and built my own typographic monastery on top.

Next stop: Naxos. A beautiful Cycladic island, best known for “Portara” (The Door), the only remains of the ancient temple of the god Apollo, built in the 6th century B.C. The sight is visited by thousands of travelers every year, who take photos of the amazing sunsets of the island.
