In Vino Veritas was established in 1997 and is owned and managed by sommelier Svein Lindin. Through In Vino Veritas, Svein offers wine-tastings, wine classes, and tours of the wine country of Italy and France. Vinkurs for folk flest is Norwegian for "winecourses for everyone."

Svein's old website was functional but overly boxy and full of cheesy graphics. The new website that I designed reenvisions Svein's brand as a provider of wine-experiences at once powerful, sophisticated, and classic. Visitors to the new website are greeted with a bold, wide-set logotype in the elegant Otama. As they scroll, they read a biography of Svein. Content alternates dynamically between left- and right-alignment. In the middle section, visitors are encouraged to sign up for one of Svein's exciting wine experiences, which are displayed in a vertical list.
The new design supports Svein's need to create and manage a loyal customer base for his business. A bold red tab in the corner of the navigation bar invites users to log-in to their customer accounts... And a call-out near the footer invites them to either create a new account or join the mailinglist. In the final website, these elements would lead to a full-featured e-commerce experience from which users can purchase access to wine tastings or tours led by Svein.

The original website suffered from a profusion of sponsor logos. Svein needed these logos to stay... but how could we make them add to his brand image instead of detracting from it? The answer I came up with is space. By right-aligning the list of sponsors, I give it space to grow with Svein's business. The result is a sophisticated take on asymmetry that leaves Svein's business with room to grow.
