Totalitarian Governments Get a Little Nicer to Look At
As part of a class I was taking, we were assigned to chose a classic book and design the cover 14 times in the span of one week.
To help guide us, we had to design one cover for each of Paul Rand's 14 Formal Concerns.

I selected George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984." I found it gripping when I had read it in high school and I appreciated the messages Orwell had sown into his novel. The fonts I chose reflected a sense of authoritarian power and formality, as I imagined the world must have felt.
