Besides of all the designing that I do, one of my favorite hobbies next to gaming is Tabletennis. I started playing tabletennis when i was little at campings and later I got a table for my birthday and we played in our garden during the summer. Ofcourse I was never any good, but I really liked it. So later in life when i decided I had to get some exercise I decided to join a tabletennis club named Never Despair.

I became better over the years and started to play competition. After 3 years I became a well known member of Never Despair and was completly intergrated among friends.

 

Around this time I also finished my graduation. When people started to ask what I did and I started showing the things that I've made people got really excited with my work.

Naturally I came in contact with the president of our club and after a few meetings I became a member of the PR team.  I am now the Webmaster of Never Despair and the graphic designer.

 

One of the first tasks I was given was to design a new logo.

 

Our old one (as shown below) has been made quite some time ago and needed an overhaul.

I started thinking of a new logo, the color green had to be part of it, since that's our team color and it needed the full name of the club in it aswell. I made the new logo in Adobe Illustrator and tried using more modern colors and typograhpy. Also I wanted to make clear that it was a logo for a Tabletennis club while still trying to keep it simple and clean. The new logo eventually became this:

After the succes of my logo I was handed more and more tasks. One of those things was to print the new logo onto a flag so it could be used during events. Never Despair does a lot of recruiting at schools and tries to actively participate in helping childeren pick a sport and keep moving and playing with others within my city.

Below you can see the result of the flag. The flag contains the logo among with some extra information like the city name and website. see below:

Next I helped giving the club it's own house style. The new logo together with the new house style is now used for letters, importaint announcements in the kantine and to outside media aswell. We use it for our Facebook and Twitter and our monthly information magazines.

I've also made a flyer that we can hand out during our recruitement or other events. (photo's were handed to me and are not made by me). Below you can see the front and back of our flyer.

 Up to this day i still do desinging for Never Despair and I still love playing tabletennis. I will keep this post updated with all the relevant work I do for Never Despair.
