Overview

To kick off the holiday season, Stingaree, a prominent San Diego nightclub, 944 magazine, and the Gentlemen’s Alliance teamed up to host a toy drive showing support for the community's less fortunate children. Stingaree, a long-time client of LESS+MORE, commissioned the design agency to develop an innovative marketing campaign that created awareness and brought participants to the event. Initially, the campaign’s main component was a single ad that would run in the December issue of 944 magazine. However, as the brainstorming session evolved, it was decided that an additional die-cut robot ad would accompany the main ad.

As the intern, my role was to conceptualize, design, and ultimately assemble the die-cut robot we called “Build A Bot.” I based the initial concept on the original ad design using the same form and color gradients for design consistency. The main challenge was to make sure anyone could construct the bot without using tape or glue so getting the assembly tabs just right was an essential part of this design process.
