A series of observational sketches, illustrations and more on the things i observe while travelling daily in the metro to my workplace.
"Find the gap"
An outside view of how a daily commute in the Delhi Metro looks like.... where it seems that everyone travelling has made peace with all kinds of violations meted out to their person....
"Girls in the Metro"
In the hot summers of delhi and in many other cities in india, you often see girls cover themselves up with dupattas with nothing but there eyes sticking out... to protect their skin from the harsh sun... which at times makes for a striking appearance..
"The Candy Crush Saga"
All you see in the metro is people on their phones and tablets... their worlds confined to the screens of their devices... msging, listening to songs, watching movies but most of all.... playing candy crush....
"The kids and the Pole"
I often observe little kids come into the metro , just grab hold of a pole and start swinging in circles... without a care in the world... happy as they can be.... often in stark contrast to adults who always look too tired , constipated or busy...
"The Ladies Coach"
The first coach in the metro is reserved for the women....So all the men, from the young to the old gather up and set camp in the next coach... and stare..
there's always this one couple... who stand on either side of the end and chat away...
"The Obstacle course"
You can see people attempting to make their way through the crowds sitting on the floor especially in the area between two coaches which often feels like an obstacle course..
In the Metro you often see groups of big punjabi women happily calim all the seats for themselves as the men just stand and hope to find a seat ....
In the evenings, as people make their way home, you often find them sleeping... and some struggling to stay awake ..
One of the first episodes of the series based on my observations while travelling in the Delhi Metro.
