BFA Senior Collection Version #1

For my senior thesis collection i was inspired by the goddesses of greek mythology. I am passionate about creating garments that fit and accentuate the curves of a woman. Each has a distinct pattern and colors that set them apart, while the gold connects them. One look was chosen from each board and each is in the process of construction.
Eos-Titaness and goddess of the dawn
With this goddess I wanted to connect the feeling of Eos sweeping across the horizon
bringin dawn to us and awakening the world through her wings.
(Figure 2 with figure 5)
Aphrodite-Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation.
Finding inspiration from the clam shell which is a symbol for Aphrodite, I incorprated a shell
into the bra of the suit and gave the suit a corset feeling with the back lacing up.
(Figure 3)
Artemis (the archer)-Goddess of hunt, wild and virginity
With this suit I am intrested in the bow of the archer.
With that in mind I created a very simple suit with intricate lacing detail.
(Figure 1)
Athena-Goddess of wisdom and war
Athena is an impressive strong goddess; with her suit I captured that passion.
She has a slim body suit with a quilted and studded armored piece over top.
(figure 1)
Persephone-Queen of the underworld
I tapped into the idea of Persephone rising from the underworld. I created a long hooded cape that was dyed with black stretching up creating the feeling of her rise. Also the suit was made to have a sense of sexuality without being overly sexulized.
