As part of my typography class at Parsons The New School for Design, me and my fellow students were to develope a magazine/book for an essay about the Eames chair and its origin. An essay originally published in 2010 by Katlin Handler. I decided to go for a more magazine oriented look, wanting to
keep the clean, modern and slic finish that resembles the Eames chair

I always enjoy sewing my booklets together compared to the common stapler. As a spot color for my magazine, the magenta plays a central role, and ties the essay together both figuratively and literally speaking. I chosed to dye the thread used to saddle sow the magazine together, completing the design rather that using a boring white string.
Together with the magenta colored thread, I sew in a small scale poster I had also created for the project, creating a break in the essay, presented as a small token from the magazine it self.
Now you are free to continue the essay, with a little eye-snack on the side
The magazine ended up being a success, and a very fun expirience.
