Greenwich Foot Tunnel

This project was about using a space to create a different environment. As a group we were given the Greenwich Foot Tunnel. We were mainly interested in looking at sound and light in order to change the space.

Below is a picture of a section of the tunnel where we blacked out the tunnel lights and put spot lights on the walls to highlight its structure. In the middle of the blacked out section was a movement sensor set up using arduino which played a sound as you walked past it.
This created an uncomfortable, uncertain feel in the tunnel.
When I developed this project on my own I wanted to change the atmosphere so it was more welcoming and interactive. I therefore created some instruments, that the users of the tunnel could play, in boxes that had suckers on them so they stuck to the tiles in the tunnel.
Each one was placed under a light that had a coloured filter on it.
