The Digital Museum of Stolen Art

The Digital Museum of Stolen Art is a prototype of a interface designed to help the user view and explore all of the stolen paintings of the world. It has an introductory animation that gives an overview of the history of art theft, it explains the various reasons art was stolen through history and then introduces the interface. This video would play upon arrival to the site and then the user would explore the data through the interface. The interface is designed to look like an infinite gallery wall. The user can zoom in and go painting to painting or they can search by artist or heist. Each painting has an individual timeline and story that the user can read. For example the Mona Lisa was stolen and recovered twice. The user can also view paintings grouped by heist. Higher quality videos: https://vimeo.com/97127987 https://vimeo.com/97127986
