Hi everyone! Since I already started to my new film project i decided to share my prev. film and part from my undergrad graduation project here, before it got so old :) Cant believe its been 4 years! Frame (2011) can be counted as a 5 month lenght produced project. It is like my first experience of how to make my drawings move. It is very important for me, because it was a self challenge and a project done with full of excitement! I wasnt having any animation experience. In terms of animation it is lacking of timing and spacing, which added a sort of unexpected stop motion like style, I'd classify my first film as more than an experimental visual character show rather than an animated performance. It was amazing expeience to work on every step of the pipeline by myself including music and vocalization (originally i used Peggy Lee's songs and it was a great fit with the mood of the film but to avoid copyright issues, i had to do my own music for public screenings, which is not sounds so proffesional, unfortunately but an interesting try:) ) . As a graduation project Frame is awarded as the 'Best of the Show 2011' in the Graduation Exhibition in Bilkent university and screened in some festivals. Hope you enjoy, waiting to hear your comments!
" Frame tells the story of an old man who carries his wife's framed picture around with him and talks to it as if it were really his wife. As the film begins, the man is seen standing on a dark street before entering Joe's Jazz Bar. An aura of mystery pervades the scene, encompassing the attitude of the barman toward the old man as well as the latter's relationship with his framed picture, and culminates with the entrance of Azrael, before slowly dissolving. The film's theme centers on crime and punishment."
