2014 project
The idea of this project is to show the feeling of being trapped.
Materials used are Georgette and leather, to signify the beauty of being released and the roughness of being trapped.
Layers of Georgette signify the transparent layers of rules imposed by society which make up a thick layer and then a rope stitched around in such a way to show the feeling of being tied up while still accentuating the shape of a female figure.
Leather to show self-imposed restrictions that women are not able to tear apart from even after removing all those layers.
The sequence of garments show a story,
She is removing the layers and untying herself but still feels caged.
