The China Design Centre is the UK’s first permanent design centre dedicated to providing exhibitions, events and conferences exploring contemporary Chinese innovations. In November, the centre launched their brand new exhibition “Designed for sitting” – an exclusive showcase of eight well known Chinese designer’s works, featuring their designs for chairs and furniture. The task was to create a large display banner for publicising the exhibition.

The design of the banner was to be kept simple and clean. An ink stroke was added onto the background to create a visual flow between the chair and the message. With the main colour theme of red, white and black, the banner design not only linked back with the visual identity of the design centre; it also highlights a sense of Chinese culture.
