Bacchus
Wine Store- Fall 2010
I designed a wine store in California. My design was driven by my research and studies of the geometry of the space. My geometry was inspired by the image of green wine bottle bottoms. This image showed me that wine bottles are made up of multiple circles, varying in size stacked up on each other. My concept was influenced by the Roman god of wine, Bacchus, and the images following this page. I noticed a lot of images of wine bottles have jewel tone colors. This observation made me think of gemstones/or jewels, and royalty, which drove me to use colored glass for my displayed counters and counter tops. I named the store after the Roman wine god.
My Final Geometry Study- This geometry grid drove my design and layout of the store.
These images inspired me through my design process. Inspired me in both the geometric grid layout, and aesthetic elements of my store design.
