This project was part of a semester-long look at a controversial topic, illegal immigration. For this two-part project, I had to design an invitation to a conference/seminar about the American policy on immigration.
Now, when most people hear something about such a controversial issue many opt to stay out of the conversation. To transverse this challenge, I figured that my design would have to be friendly and inviting, but also exciting, as a way to show the guests that it would be a easy-going place to voice their feeling about the subject.
The second part of the project, more for the benefit of the moderator of the conference, was a itinerary/planning guide to the event. It included information about why the topic was important, who the guests are, conference itinerary and what I wanted to get out of the talk.
Since the main theme was about travel, I thought it would be really cool to design the invitation as an air mail envelope and call the planning guide a travel guide.
