Take a chef, an architect and a teacher with a passion for art. You need a vision, cooperation, love for art, culture and education and certainly a bit of craziness. Pour the ingredients on the Caribbean island of Cozumel, then shake well and enjoy Magenta.
Magenta is an art&culture centre with cafeteria, restaurant, bar and a library for children. It is a shared place, where entrance is free and encouraged. It is a place founded by three friends: an Italian chef and an Italian teacher with a passion for arts who have been friends for 15 years, and a Mexican architect who fell in love with… well, not only with the project. But Magenta would be nothing without all the people who believe in the project and collaborate in many forms.
You can read, study, chat and eat our soul food in one of the many spaces (the library, the cafeteria areas, the gallery and the garden) always surrounded by work of arts and good music. Events of any kind take place in Magenta: courses, workshops, shows. From language to theatre, painting, sustainability, sexism, gender roles, cooking and food culture, Magenta's courses, workshops and shows are given by professionals, experts and artists and are addressed to kids, teenagers and adults. Magenta also provides residency for Mexican and international artists who want to collaborate, giving them a place to live, create, exhibit and eventually share their knowledge.
Magenta is all this but not only. It is what the people from Cozumel and people who pass by will make of it. It is a vibrant, colorful crossroads which is ready to welcome you all!
