Goree Island, Senegal, a place of memory of humanity. As the gate of Auschwitz, the "house slave" have passed million blacks headed for a life of slavery, a future denied and, often, a horrible death.
All finished? No. Migration today bring a new "slavery" statement. How else to define the exploitation of migrant underpaid, left to work snubbed by residents, forced to live and work in conditions unworthy of a human being?
And so, again denied futures by barriers to migration, expulsions, detention of people, guilty only of having left their country for a better life.
