PEEK is a table lamp produced using a multi-axis cnc machine by cutting the bock of wood and molded resin together. The concept is to work with both materials simultaneously; WOOD and RESIN. The play with layers
not only create a visual effect of the subtle contours beneath the exterior form but also to allow light to shine
through the resin.

Taking advantage of the resin being a sturdy clear adhesive material, we aim to design a lamp that is simple yet complex, visually captivating but easily manufactured. Our design is to show how multi-axis cnc is needed in a subtle manner, achieving both facets and filets together, machining both materials simultaneously to create that interesting visual appearance. Our lamp is to be an ambient light that sits quietly by your table, like your friendly companion.

The project brief was to fully utilise Multi-Axis CNC Machine on specifically chosen materials to best achieve its task for the intended product.
