National Art Gallery Singapore

National Art Gallery, Singapore

The National Art Gallery, Singapore is situated in the heart of Singapore's Civic District, the City Hall and adjacent former Supreme Court building. The two historic buildings will be used to house this exciting new visual art venue and the Gallery is anticipated to be completed in 2013.

Stipulated to be the nation's biggest modern art gallery. It aims to be a civic and creative space that's established for the enrichment, enjoyment and engagement of Singapore residents and visitors from all over the world.

I initiated a design brief to a branding system for the National Art Gallery, Singapore and a set of promotional print materials that will be launched before it's opening.

As part of the brand strategy, I decided to use the significant images of the monuments to create a strong brand identity that conveys the brand equity and translates into its communications, while reflecting the key brand attributes. With the brand narrative of the institution as a gallery with "Different Frames of Creativity"

The brand mark is flexible and open ended, making the brand able to adopt different colours in its communication prints. This makes the brand refreshing, creative and exciting every time you look at it, while still not forgetting what the distinct shape of the Supreme Court's dome represents.
