Aleppo is one of the oldestcontinuously inhabited cities in the world (the 6th millennium BC). On other hand it'sone of the fastest-growing cities in Syria and the Middle East. In 1986Aleppo was listed by UNESCO as aWorld Heritage Site.
However in these days Aleppo isexperiencing a noticeable revival and is returning to the spotlight. Recentlyit has won the title of the "Islamic Capital of Culture 2006", andhas also witnessed a wave of successful restorations of its treasuredmonuments.
The main role of the city was as a trading place throughout the history, asit sat at the crossroads of two trade routes and mediated the trade from India,and the route coming from Damascus in the South.

The chosen site is located at theentrance of the city on the arterial street which connects it with the capitalDamascus above a heavy traffic joint called (the death circle) because thenumber of the accidents happened on it.
our main concept was to create a save trafficnode and to make an unforgettable gate to the city which give a great first impression about Aleppo ;a city of an amazing past ,a risingpresent and promising future .

The buildingstructure is composed of four independent steel structures rising through avery complicated traffic node. They come together in a unique iconic gateclimbing over the existing surrounding buildings. This structure serves asseries of cores developed within the structure each having different functionsand typologies of spaces giving flexibility to consider future uses, andgive the dweller a variety of activities and consume experiences throughout thebuilding
